Asian Moms Force Fairfax School Board to Retreat Like 1940 France

Okay, in fairness, this isn’t a wholly accurate description of what happened in Northern France in May-June 1940. France surrendered, but after losing 92,000 soldiers killed in six weeks. But, for all intents and purposes, both the French and British were defeated by Nazi Germany in the first five days of Hitler’s invasion. Even before the first panzer columns crossed the border, the French had been psychologically scarred from losing millions of their bravest citizens a generation before.

Where the battle cry of mobilized Frenchmen in 1914 had been ‘On to Berlin,’ in 1939, it sounded more like ‘Let’s get this over with.’

Of course, the most recent spectacle by the Fairfax County School Board made the disillusioned and poorly led French Army in early World War II look like the Spartans at Thermopylae.

The Daily Wire’s Luke Rosiak explains how the entire school board fled the stage mid-meeting after a cohort of engaged moms called them “racist.”

The group’s chants came days after a federal judge’s ruling that the school board illegally discriminated against Asian American students when it overhauled the admissions process at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

Rosiak continues:

Asra Nomani, the India-born mother of a TJ student who was involved in the successful lawsuit, spoke at Thursday’s meeting, and told the board “For the last two years you have been trying to make us invisible, but a federal judge has ruled that in fact you are going to go down in history just like I told you you would, just like the school board in Brown vs. Board.”

“You are the new face of racism,” she said.

The school board’s high-priced law firm, Hunton Andrews Kurth, is the successor to Hunton & Williams, which fought to preserve segregation in cases that ultimately became Brown vs. Board, the case in which the Supreme Court struck down school segregation.

Nomani brought with her to the podium a stack of copies of Race To The Bottom, a new book by Daily Wire investigative reporter Luke Rosiak, which highlights anti-merit, anti-Asian school policies and chronicles the Fairfax school board in particular.

Board members scurried off of the stage as a growing number of parents, including many immigrants, chanted “racist, racist, racist.”
