Biden’s ‘Ministry of Truth’ Chief Resigns From Disinformation Board

Censored Man with red tape on his mouth. Colorkey. Isolated on white.

The ’s  finds itself on life support today, three weeks after the  (DHS) announced its creation.

According to a report by The Washington Post’s Taylor Lorenz, DHS decided to “pause” the board’s formation. In response, Executive Director  submitted her letter of resignation.

As Mediaite reports:

Citing “multiple employees” at the Department of Homeland Security, Lorenz reported it was decided to end the effort on Monday, and Jankowicz wrote up a letter of resignation the following day. She was reportedly given the option to stay on as an evaluation of the board is conducted.

According to Lorenz, “right-wing attacks” derailed the effort, especially after the announcement that Jankowicz would be leading it. An unidentified employee told the Post that Jankowicz has been “subjected to unjustified and vile personal attacks and physical threats.” The employee also said Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas will continue to defend the controversial figure, despite the board being put on the back burner not long after her joining.

Past videos of Jankowicz stirred up controversy hours after she was her position was announced, with critics deeming her a “Minister of Truth” and the “Mary Poppins of Misinformation,” the latter being a self-given title. It refers to a TikTok video that quickly went viral of the 33-year-old singing to the tune of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as she warns people not to vote for politicians she believes are spreading disinformation.

Few progressives called out Jankowicz’s obvious liberal bias. In the past, the ex-disinformation czar used Twitter to promote the discredited Steele dossier and marginalize the Hunter Biden laptop story first reported by the New York Post.

American Liberty News’ Paul Crespo extensively covered Jankowicz’s record in a piece last month:

The Washington Examiner notes that Jankowicz replied to a tweet by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham on Dec. 8, 2017, asking “Was there collusion between DOJ and Fusion GPS to use Democratic funded dossier for political and legal purposes?” by saying falsely that “your party funded the dossier first.”

She also tweeted on April 22, 2020, that “you’re probably aware that [the Steele dossier] began as a Republican opposition research project.”

But that has proven to be absolutely false. As the Examiner explains:

…Steele created his discredited anti-Trump dossier after being hired in early 2016 by the opposition firm Fusion GPS, which was itself hired by the Perkins Coie law firm and Marc Elias, the general counsel for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

She also described the Hunter laptop hard drive — which has now been repeatedly authenticated by establishment media such as The New York Times and Washington Post — as a “Trump campaign product.”

According to the Examiner:

The Associated Press ran a story Oct. 14, 2020, reporting, “Disinformation experts say there are multiple red flags that raise doubts about their authenticity, including questions about whether the laptop actually belongs to Hunter Biden, said Nina Jankowicz.” The report quoted her as saying that “we should view it as a Trump campaign product.”
