Virginia Democrats seem to be on the verge of once more paying a hefty political price for stomping on the rights of parents in the Commonwealth. Swing congressional races in Northern Virginia are being heavily impacted by recent remarks made by one member of the Virginia House of Delegates – Elizabeth Guzman – whose Prince William County-based district covers parts of Virginia’s 7th and 10th Congressional Districts. Guzman has campaigned with the incumbent congresswomen in both seats, Rep. Abigail Spanberger and Rep. Jennifer Wexton. Their Republican challengers haven’t wasted any time tying Guzman’s radical anti-parent views to that of her compatriots.
Hung Cao, the Republican nominee in VA-10 has been taking his message of fighting for parents’ rights to both the doors and the airwaves in the 10th District and beyond.
Cao told WMAL last week that “the Guzman bill to label parents as child abusers has Jennifer Wexton trying to backtrack on her support of and collaboration with woke progressives who attack parental rights.”
Washington Post columnist George Will wrote on Friday that “the Guzman bill has Wexton and other Virginia Democrats in flight from the contamination that comes from imprudent collaboration with especially woke progressives.”
In a Saturday morning Fox News appearance, Cao reminded viewers that Republicans want parents to be “welcomed partners in their child’s education.”
Parents want to be welcomed partners in their child’s education, and Americans want an economy that provides opportunity for all.

Over the past week, two highly respected national prognosticators have changed their ratings for VA-10. Real Clear Politics now ranks VA-10 only as a seat that “Leans Dem”, a shift towards Cao from a previous rating of “Likely Dem.” Inside Elections described the race as a dead heat on Friday.
