Delegate Campbell Passes Away Following Cancer Battle

Delegate Ronnie R. Campbell, a Republican who represented  Virginia’s 24th House District, has passed away at the age of 68 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Campbell was first elected in a special election in 2018, and was re-elected in 2019 and 2021.

His office announced his passing in a statement issued this morning.

Prior to his election to the House of Delegates, Campbell served his community as a member of the Virginia State Police. He had also been a member of the Rockbridge County School Board and Board of Supervisors.

Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Rich Anderson shared the following sentiments about Campbell in a statement issued by the RPV today:

“He was a selfless public servant and a leader of impeccable quality. Most of all, he was my friend, and our hearts are with Ronnie’s family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace as we lift up his family in prayer during these difficult times.”
