DNC’s Tom Perez Condemns Booming Jobs Report As “Reckless”

As Republicans are cheering for the seemingly boundless economy, Democrats are blasting the “reckless” policies of the Trump Administration that have led to some apparent terrible end, according to those on the left. Former Labor Secretary and new Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Tom Perez released a statement following the June employment record showing 213,000 non-farm jobs were created. For him, more jobs is a dangerous thing.

“With slow wage growth, rising health care premiums, and skyrocketing gas prices across the country, Donald Trump’s reckless policies are hurting millions of hardworking families,” Perez stated.

What Perez apparently doesn’t realize is it that wage growth is actually rising now due to a narrowing job market. Currently, there are only six million Americans to fill 6.7 million job openings as more people are employed than ever before, causing employers to entice potential employees with better starting wages and benefits packages.

Healthcare premiums are rising because the only way the companies within the Obamacare marketplace can survive and become profitable is by healthy people being forced to buy healthcare insurance to subsidize those who will ended up with costly plans. As President Trump nixed the mandate, it showed a fatal flaw in the workings of the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA), which has had the opposite effect of what was intended in theory.

Perez when on to say that, “Trump and Republicans in Congress have been so determined to undermine workers that they held a Supreme Court seat hostage for nearly a year in order to nominate an aggressively anti-union justice, who became the deciding vote in last week’s disgraceful decision in the Janus case.” Interestingly, the blame for the decision in the case is now being placed on Justice Neil Gorsuch, rather than on retiring Anthony Kennedy, whom many have excoriated since he announced he is stepping off the bench effective at the end of July.

The Court’s decision in Janus is quite simple, and so was Gorsuch’s opinion. Not only is it logical that people should not be forced to fund a private organization that is advancing government policies they oppose, it also violates the First Amendment as money is a form of expression, which is a form of speech. Of course, Democrats now believe that any opposing speech is a form of hate speech designed to chip away at American civil rights.

“This is all part of the Republican playbook,” Perez said. “For decades, Republicans and their wealthy corporate allies have been chipping away at workers’ rights, weakening unions, and depressing wages – all while giving massive tax cuts to the top 1%. And Janus is their most dangerous attack yet.”

This is despite the fact that the Trump Administration’s deregulatory nature when it comes to tax law and helping Americans starting business as assisted the U.S. economy bounce back after anemic growth under the previous President.

Perez noted, “Trump and Republicans in Congress are trying to build a winner-take-all economy that enriches their wealthy friends and saddles working families with the bill,” according to the Washington Examiner. He explained, “Democrats want to create good-paying jobs and build an economy that works for everyone. And we will continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with workers and with our brothers and sisters in the labor movement as they fight for the wages, benefits, and livelihood they deserve.”

Labor movement? Sounds a bit like the progressive hero Karl Marx.

Democrats do believe in creating jobs, but only those that are created either within the public sector or low-paying part-time jobs as were created under President Obama. The fact of the matter is that progressives do not understand the fact that the richest of Americans get more of a tax break because those are the ones that own the companies that hire workers and use the extra money to expand operations or compensate employees better.

The DNC only has the time to complain because people are back at work, tending to their own business rather than rallying outside the doors of their Democratic representative. Democrats are not interested in helping out Americans who are struggling, only ones that fall within their well-categorized boxes of “victims” of the Trump Administration.

Considering Democrats are running on rolling back the Republican tax overhaul this midterm election cycle, they will have a lot of explaining to do during stump speeches to answer for the chaos that will cause.
