Fox News’ Rupert Murdoch Wants Youngkin To Run In 2024

Fox News’ own media magnate has a Virginian at the top of his list of preferred 2024 GOP contenders.

HuffPost reported that Rupert Murdoch  “has privately told people he wants to see Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) enter the race.”

Murdoch isn’t the first billionaire to express a desire for a Youngkin candidacy in 2024.

As previously noted by The Republican Standard, “Thomas Peterffy, a billionaire who has supported Republican candidates in the past, says he hopes Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin takes the leap.

“I would like to vote for a person who, in my view, is most likely to be able to win the general election. And accordingly, we have to pick somebody in primaries that we believe is most likely to win the general. And that is going to be a person that I believe is more likely to be a centrist candidate, ” Peterffy said.

Still, Youngkin told the media in May that his top priority for this year was winning in Virginia.

As The Republican Standard previously reported, “Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) offered a simple “no” when asked about running for president. “I’m going to be working in Virginia this year,” Youngkin added.”
