Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) wanted answers on the conditions facing soldiers at a base in his district.

Since the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, Fort Pickett has received roughly 7,200 Afghan refugees, leaving Good concerned about the humanitarian crisis and the state of the troops watching over displaced persons.

As ABC13 News reports:

Videos sent to Rep. Good show the inside of the sleeping quarters for soldiers at Fort Pickett.

Good was told soldiers were being denied hot meals and have limited opportunities to shower.

In response, Good sent a letter to Brigadier General Richard A. Harrison asking him to respond to a number of questions.

He gave him until Thursday to respond, and Major General Timothy Williams did so.

The general acknowledged that conditions hadn’t been ideal for service members, but he added that they now have heated tents and hot meals.
