Political outsider, successful business leader and Republican nominee for governor Glenn Youngkin’s campaign spokeswoman Macaulay Porter released the following statement in response to Terry McAuliffe’s latest statements about Virginia’s cherished Right-to-Work law.

“After apparently emerging from a smoke-filled backroom, Terry McAuliffe acquired an endorsement from a Richmond-based lobbying group after lying about his intent to repeal right-to-work. (RELATED: Youngkin, Republican Slate Receive New Endorsement)

“The VTCA is just the most recent victim to fall prey to Terry McAuliffe’s lies about his position on right-to-work, and Virginians shouldn’t be fooled. McAuliffe will immediately repeal right-to-work here in Virginia like he promised to do this year when he said, ‘sure, I’d sign [a bill repealing right-to-work].’ Every business knows that this would cripple the Commonwealth’s economy.

“Glenn Youngkin will increase investment in our roads and highways as part of his Day One Game Plan, yet McAuliffe doesn’t even have a plan for roads and bridges in the 130-pages of failed policies that he recycled from past campaigns. Instead, he’s based his entire campaign on defunding police, raising taxes on families by $5,400 and telling parents to sit down and shut up when it comes to their children’s education.

“Glenn is proud to be the candidate that will fight for Virginians being nickel and dimed by the grocery and gas taxes, and will fight every day for the people of Virginia—not special interest groups—to make the Commonwealth the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
