DOVE: Playing Politics with Children’s Healthcare

A majority of House Democrats voted against bi-partisan legislation (HR 3922) that would have extended the Children Health Insurance Program (CHIP). One of those Democrats was Congressman Gerry Connolly.

Rep. Connolly has a habit of putting partisan politics and his friend Nancy Pelosi above the interest of his constituents. In this case, Rep. Connolly sided with Nancy Pelosi over parents and children who rely on CHIP for their healthcare needs. The Republicans and Democrats who voted for CHIP funded it — Rep. Connolly did not.

Being a career politician, Rep. Connolly has a history of saying one thing and doing another.

However, this most recent attempt at deception by Connolly takes the cake. Not only did he vote against bi-partisan legislation that would provide healthcare for children in need, but he also tried place false blame on Republicans.

But wait, it gets better.

In October, Rep. Connolly signed a letter urging the extension of CHIP. Why would he vote and speak out against that very extension of CHIP?

The answer is partisan politics and loyalty to Nancy Pelosi. Rep. Gerry Connolly is simply more concerned about the interests of Nancy Pelosi than the health of children in his own district.

As a veteran, my job was to accomplish the mission. Congressman Connolly routinely fails the mission of advocating for the interests of his constituents. I’m running to defeat partisan Rep. Connolly because his interests no longer represent ours

In order to side with Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Connolly voted against the wellbeing of millions of kids. How far will partisan Rep. Connolly go?
