VIDEO: New Youngkin Ad Exposes McAuliffe’s Dangerous Tax & Spend Agenda

Republican nominee for governor Glenn Youngkin’s campaign today the launch of a six-figure statewide TV ad campaign that contrasts Youngkin’s plan to lower the cost of living with Terry McAuliffe’s plan that will increase the cost of living with the largest tax hike in Virginia history.

“Terry McAuliffe will make life difficult for Virginians by making it more expensive to live here through spending proposals that will cost Virginia families $5,400—the largest tax increase in Virginia history,” said Youngkin spokesperson Macaulay Porter. “Glenn Youngkin will lower the cost of living by eliminating the tax on groceries, suspending the recent gas tax hikes, and slashing income taxes.”

McAuliffe’s budget would impose the largest tax increase in Virginia history, costing Virginia families $5,400.

Virginians were overtaxed by $2.6 billion last fiscal year alone. The Virginia gas tax has increased by 136 percent since 2014, costing families hundreds of dollars per year. Meanwhile, Virginia remains one of 13 states that slaps a tax on groceries, hurting families who are trying to feed their children. Over the last eight years, the general fund revenues have increased at two times the rate of GDP growth.

Virginia simply can’t afford Terry McAuliffe.
