Will Lindsey Davis Stover Return Money From Sexual Predator Senator Chris Dodd?

One of the many underwhelming Democrat candidates who are competing in the June 12th primary in Virginia’s 10th District to take on Congresswoman Barbara Comstock received $500 last year from reported sexual assaulter former Senator Chris Dodd. Lindsey Davis Stover, who has raised most of her money from outside Virginia, is open to all avenues of financial backing to forward her campaign, even those from sexual predators.

Last year, congressional Democrats rushed to give thousands of dollars to charities after it disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein saturated the nightly news with his nefarious antics among the West Coast elite. According to an NBC News article, Weinstein gave over $1.4 million to Democratic candidates, lawmakers, and others sympathetic to their causes. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren received tens of thousands in funds from Weinstein, but vowed to give them to charity after news broke on numerous claims of sexual harassment.

Celebrity claims of sexual harassment are just limited to West Coast entertainment types. Senator Chris Dodd, now chief lobbyist for the Motion Pictures Association of America, was drinking buddies with former Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy and their college frat boy antics at DC bars are legendary. So much so that GQ reported on incident that was considered sexual assault by the woman waitress they took advantage of. In an excerpt from the 2016 article, the acts which Dodd performed one night in the Washington D.C. restaurant are showed to be truly appalling.

A great awakening has occurred throughout the country inspired by the “#MeToo” movement. But while the MeToo movement was causing headlines across the globe, Lindsey Davis Stover was taking money Chris Dodd. As you can see Chris Dodd is part of the problem and Lindsey Davis Stover should immediately donate this money to a worthy cause.

It is also interesting that Lindsey Davis Stover would even take campaign contributions from Dodd, considering she is trying to reveal other who have paid off victims of sexual harassment. In a statement released by Lindsey Davis Stover, she said. “There should be zero-tolerance for sexual harassment on Capitol Hill. Our Congressional leaders should represent the best of our country.” This was in reference to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the U.S. Department of Treasury requesting records that reveal the secret payouts authorized in congressional sexual misconduct and harassment cases.

It seems that Lindsey Davis Stover is a bit of a hypocrite, well, maybe more than a bit. Of course, she can return the money to Senator Dodd or donate it to a charity that assist those victimized by sexual predators. But, will she?
