A woman was left with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the chest early Tuesday morning.
According to the Hopewell Police Department, a call was received on Tuesday, April 29, at 3:33 a.m. that referenced a woman who had been shot in the 400 block of Allen Avenue.
When officers arrived, a woman was found with a gunshot wound in her chest, according to police, and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are considered life-threatening.

An initial investigation indicates that the woman and the person who shot her are known to one another, and police said there is no active threat to the community.
