Stile Antico has been one of my favorite “gets” of the last five years, with musical arrangements that run the gambit from the historic to the rather new — but all of it choral music one might expect to hear 500 years ago.
NPR’s All Things Considered ended up hosting Stile Antico back in 2010, which helped propel them into the mainstream. Sting has borrowed a number of their musical talents as well, using members of Stile Antico to help on Songs from the Labyrinth as well as on If On A Winter’s Night… back in 2009. Needless to say, they’ve done some pretty cool stuff.
The best part? Stile Antico is coming to Richmond, Virginia on Friday, April 6th at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
So rather than 18 minutes of civilization, you can enjoy 90 minutes of civilization in a cathedral where the acoustics are simply marvelous.
Enjoy!
