Following his decisive victory in the Republican primary for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District last month, nominee Derrick has picked up another top endorsement.
In a media release sent by Anderson’s campaign Monday, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares shared his support of the Republican nominee:
“Derrick is a member of the National Guard and a Special Forces Green Beret who has deep roots in the 7th District. I am honored to endorse Derrick Anderson in the 7th Congressional District and look forward to working alongside him to take back the 7th this year!”
Anderson thanked Miyares for the support, stating the following:
“Attorney General Miyares is fighting hard to keep our communities safe and he needs strong partners in Washington DC. I’m very concerned about the level of crime that we’re seeing and will do everything I can do address it when I’m in Congress.”
Anderson will face off in the general election against incumbent Democrat Eugene Vindman who gained a national profile after he became a left-wing star during President Trump’s first impeachment trial.
