A new poll from NBC News shows how much of a drag Joe Biden’s floundering presidency is on vulnerable Democrats.
Fewer than three in 10 Americans have confidence in Biden’s ability to resolve the crisis between Russia and Ukraine. The Russian invasion and economic malaise have sunk Biden’s approval to the lowest level of his presidency thus far.
Good Sunday morning —
Latest numbers from the NBC News poll:
Confidence in Pres. Biden on the war
A great deal/some: 28%
Some/Very little: 71%
Top priority issue:
Economy: 68%
Ending the war: 29%
Pres. Biden job performance:
Approve: 40%
Disapprove: 55% pic.twitter.com/NqQpEh31nD— Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) March 27, 2022
And for the first time in NBC polling since 2014, Republicans have an edge in which party voters prefer to control Congress.
The NRSC adds:
“Joe Biden and Democrats are underwater on nearly every issue. Voters do not trust them to get the economy back on track or manage crises at home and abroad. 62% of voters say their incomes are falling behind the cost of living while only 31% say they are keeping up. Yet, Joe Biden and Senate Democrats STILL want to push through more spending that will make this problem worse.
Senate Democrats like Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Michael Bennet are still fully on board with Biden’s failing agenda. They’re going to have trouble explaining why they support Biden’s radical agenda that’s crushing middle-class families.”
While polls this early are no guarantee of victory, Democrats are in for a rough ride if things continue as they are.
