Hosted and executive produced by former supermodel Tyra Banks, and set for a June 1 release date, “Generation Drag” is a six-episode series that will feature five teenagers and their parents as they prepare to participate in a drag show event in Denver, Colorado. The children’s ages are not disclosed, but the show refers to them as teenagers. According to The Virginia Star, one boy said he became interested in drag at 13.
Discovery+ says all five teens have “worked for months curating their head-to-toe looks for their alter ego performances, but it’s the friendships they make along the way that fulfill their sense of self.”
The show has already drawn controversy, with many seeing this as potentially child abuse and several users cancelling their subscriptions in response:

The Washington Examiner also notes that a petition has been created to have the show cancelled. “Once again, our children are being attacked,” the petition states. “Our children should not be exposed to unnatural vice.”
The petition currently has well over 11,000 signatures.
