A Virginia congressman has taken the lead in the fight against a contentious vaccine mandate.
Rep. Ben Cline (R-Va.) is actively campaigning against the OSHA federal vaccine mandate. The conservative Republican argues that it will hurt Virginia businesses, first responders and families.
WSET ABC 13 reports:
That’s why Cline says he is proposing two pieces of legislation. The legislation would stop funds that would go to enforcing the mandate and stop OSHA from enforcing the mandate on businesses.
With Virginia health leaders saying COVID-19 cases are rising again, Cline was asked how he believes the pandemic should be addressed.
“Congress should and has provided funds for the development of the vaccine and massive production of it and making sure everyone who wants one should get one,” Cline said. “And that’s where the federal involvement should end.”
Democratic Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner support President Joe Biden’s push for the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
