Following his decisive victory in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate last week, nominee Hung Cao has picked up another top endorsement.
In a media release sent by Cao’s campaign Monday, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares shared his endorsement of the Republican nominee:
“Hung is a Retired Navy Captain who came to the United States as a refugee from Vietnam. I trust Hung to secure the border and always put the people of our Commonwealth first. Hung Cao has my full and complete support as we head into November. Together, we will elect President Trump and retire Tim Kaine,” said Attorney General Miyares.
Cao thanked Miyares for the support, stating the following:
“I am honored to receive the endorsement and support of Attorney General Miyares in my race for U.S. Senate. He understands more than anyone how important it is to have someone in Washington who will defend the interests of Virginians and work to support policies that uphold our constitutional values. I look forward to serving our Commonwealth and upholding our nation’s laws on the books.”
Cao will face off in the general election against incumbent Democrat Senator Tim Kaine, who was Hillary Clinton’s Vice-Presidential running mate in 2016.
