Fredericksburg Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw and Delegate-elect Josh Cole are among the 18 state and local officials who are endorsing Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger for Governor.
Spanberger announced last week that she will run for Governor in 2025 to replace Glenn Youngkin, who is term-limited by Virginia’s constitution.
She is the only declared candidate so far. Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney, a Democrat, has publicly expressed interest but has not yet announced a campaign.
According to the Associated Press, Republican candidates who are expected to run include Attorney General Jason Miyares and Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears.
