Virginia’s second most powerful Republican hasn’t been holding back when it comes to sharing her thoughts on the controversial decision made by the Supreme Court this week, which ruled that universities could not factor in an applicant’s race when making admissions decisions.

Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears shared a statement to her Twitter account Thursday applauding the decision.

Sears also appeared on Fox News following the announcement, where she shared the following passionate remarks:

Sears is the first woman to serve as Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the first Black female elected to statewide office.
