UVA’s speech suppression policy has been challenged by a Bible-carrying alumnus. Violating the First Amendment does not dissuade hate speech. As Dr. King once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
As UVA is set to implement restrictive rules and guidelines on “expressive activities,” they must not institute an area where freedom of expression is dissuaded, causing a reverse in citizen reconciliation.
California Democrats have shown the public that they are unabashedly intolerant of opposing view points with their new legislation to kill free speech.
